APPRENTICES ACT TRAINING SELECTION NOTICE NO.03/2014
Applications are invited for engagement of Trade Apprentices under Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1991 in General Services Organisation, Kalpakkam in Kancheepuram District, Tamil Nadu. This selection is only for Apprenticeship training on Stipendiary basis.
2. The application in the prescribed format superscribed as “STIPENDIARY APPRENTICE” should be submitted preferably type written on a foolscap paper with the following details along with a recent passport size photograph and attested copies of certificates & testimonials to reach:

3. The designated Trades and No. of trainees proposed are indicated below:

4. Candidates should submit one Application form for any one of the trades
indicated above.
5. Educational Qualifications:
(a) Electrician :
SSC/SSLC(10th Std.) passed with Science as one of the subjects or its equivalent. ITI Certificate of two year duration in the relevant Trade is essential.
(b) Mechanic(Motor Vehicle):
SSC/SSLC(10th Std.) passed with Science as one of the subjects or its equivalent. ITI Certificate of two year duration in the relevant Trade is essential.
(b) Refrigeration & AC Mechanic:
SSC/SSLC(10th Std.) passed with Science as one of the subjects or its equivalent. ITI Certificate of two year duration in the relevant Trade is essential.
(b) Fitter:
SSC/SSLC(10th Std.) passed with Science as one of the subjects or its equivalent. ITI Certificate of two year duration in the relevant Trade is essential.
(b) Plumber:
SSC/SSLC(10th Std.) passed with Science as one of the subjects or its equivalent. ITI Certificate of one year duration in the relevant Trade is essential.
(b) Carpenter:
SSC/SSLC(10th Std.) passed with Science as one of the subjects or its equivalent. ITI Certificate of one year duration in the relevant Trade is essential.
(b) Draughtsman(Civil):
SSC/SSLC(10th Std.) passed with Science as one of the subjects or its equivalent. ITI Certificate of two year duration in the relevant Trade is essential.
(d) Programming and System Administration Assistant:
H.Sc(12th Std.) passed under 10+2 system of Education with Science as one of the subjects or its equivalent. ITI Certificate of one year duration in Computer Operator & Programming Assistant / Programming and System Administration Assistant or relevant Trade is essential.
6. TRAINING PLACE: General Services Organisation, Kalpakkam/Anupuram
7) (a) AGE LIMIT : Not less than 16 years as on 05.09.2014
- Maximum age limit is 22 years for General Candidates. (for all communities)
Age Relaxation on Reserved posts :
(i) SC - Relaxation upto 5 years
(ii) OBC - Relaxation upto 3 years
(b) Standard of Physical Fitness:
(i) The candidates should be free from evidence of any contagious or infectious disease. He/she should not be suffering from any disease, which is likely to be aggravated by service or is likely to render him/her unfit for service or to endanger the health of the public. He/she should be free from evidence of
Tuberculosis in any form [active or healed]
(ii) The candidates should have the following:
(a) Height : 137 cms.
(b) Weight : 45 Kgs.
(c) Chest Measurement : Expansion should not be less than 3.8 cms
(irrespective of size of chest)
(d) Vision : There should be no evidence of any morbid condition of either eye or the lids of either
eye which may be liable to risk or aggravation or recurrence
8. A certificate from the registered Medical Practitioner should be attached in support of the above.
9. Selected candidates should pass the Medical Examination prescribed by the Competent Authority before being appointed as Apprentices.

11. SELECTION PROCEDURE: The applicants found suitable will be called for the written test/trade test/Viva voce test. The date and venue of the written test/trade test/Viva voce test will be informed through call letter.
12. The application should be accompanied by attested copies (not originals) of relevant certificates in support of
a) Date of Birth
b) Educational qualification
c) Technical qualification
d) Other qualifications/experience, if any
e) Community certificates of those belonging to SC/ST/OBC and
f) Employment Exchange Registered Card.
13. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: The application forms should be accompanied by two recent conduct certificates from two Gazetted Officers (originals to be sent). Applications to which only one conduct certificate is attached will be rejected.
Candidates called for trade test / viva-voce test will have to bear their own expenses. Candidates selected for training will not be allowed to withdraw from training except for reasons, which are beyond their control. Before commencement of the training, the candidates will have to execute a contract of Apprenticeship (in
triplicate). Those who willfully absent themselves are liable to refund the whole cost of their training as well as the amount paid as stipend as determined by the Central Apprenticeship Adviser.
The engagement and training are strictly in compliance with the provisions of the Apprentices Act 1961 and there is no guarantee for employment of the Apprentices on completion of their training.
Every Apprentice who has completed the period of training will, on passing a test to be conducted by the National Council for Training in Vocational Trade (NCTVT) to determine his proficiency in the designated trade in which he has served as an Apprentice would be given a Certificate of Proficiency in the trade by
the National Council. Applications with incomplete particulars or without attested copies of certificates required to be attached or otherwise not in accordance with other instructions will be rejected.
